Bill of Lading (B/L):
This is the single most important document in sea freight. It acts as a contract of carriage between the shipper and the carrier, a receipt for the goods, and a document of title.

SDS Sheet (Safety Data Sheet):
Also known as an MSDS. This is required for shipping any goods classified as hazardous. It provides detailed information on the chemical properties, health hazards, and safety precautions for the substance.

Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD):
Required for all shipments of dangerous goods. It certifies that the goods have been correctly classified, packaged, marked, and labeled according to international regulations (like IATA for air freight or IMO for sea freight).

Commercial Invoice:
This is a bill for the goods from the seller to the buyer. It’s a key document for customs clearance, as it details the value and description of the goods.

Packing List:
This document provides a detailed breakdown of the contents of each package, including weights and dimensions. It helps with customs inspections and inventory management.

Certificate of Origin: This document certifies that the goods were manufactured or processed in a specific country. It’s often required for customs clearance and to qualify for trade agreements or tariffs.
